If you know which sites your competitors are building their backlinks from, you’ve won half the battle—now you can focus on the sites that deliver results instead of reinventing the wheel.
8. Replicate Your Competitor’s Best Links
Now that you know where your competitors got their links from, the next question you need to answer is: How can you replicate their success?
For example, if you see a lot of links from related blogs, especially on the author profile, it’s obvious that guest blogging is working for them.
If their links are from corporate sites, your competitors can get links through outreach and networking.
On the other hand, if their links are from high-value sites like Entrepreneur, Forbes, CNN, Huffington Post, and more, then you should know that the columnist or editor is involved, and it could be a paid site.

10. Keep Track of Your Backlinks
Many site owners spend time and money to get new links but they don’t track their backlink status.
If you don’t track your backlinks, how do you know whether to build more or pause? You may have more than 800 links pointing to your web pages, but when you check it after 30 to 60 days, some links may be gone.
You have no control over the blogs and authority sites that link to you. Site owners can easily remove your link from their post or resource page without informing you.
That’s why monitoring your backlinks is important.
If you’re not sure how many backlinks your site currently has, here’s how to find out.
- Step 1: Visit Ubersuggest, type your site’s URL, and click “Search.”

This gives you two options:

The second option is much better. Instead of constantly creating and publishing new content, you can avoid the hassle and create pillar content on a regular basis.
